 Post subject: Bash script - Raid Checker

I am trying to write a bash script to check my raid status and email if there is any change. But I am stuck on the RegEx...

Code:
if [ "$CURRENTRAID" = [a-zA-Z0-9]*[UU][a-zA-Z0-9]*]  ]

I want to check if UU or preferably check [UU] exists in $CURRENTRAID

Can someone help?
